Abstract

This research evaluates the psychometric characteristics of the Vietnamese version of the Organizational Climate Scale (OCS-V) on a sample of general education teachers in Vietnam. Two independent teacher samples were selected to examine the psychological-measurable characteristics of the scale, including item quality, factor structure, internal consistency, and stability over time. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) supported a 12-item single-factor structure, which was subsequently confirmed through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), with acceptable model fit indices (χ²/df = 4.097; GFI = 0.923; CFI = 0.952; TLI = 0.937; RMSEA = 0.085). OCS-V exhibited very high internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.90) and good test-retest reliability after two weeks (r = 0.93). Convergent validity was tested by correlating OCS-V scores with teachers’ job satisfaction, with the latter serving as an outlier, yielding a statistically significant but moderately positive association. These results indicate that OCS-V is a reliable and valuable tool for assessing teachers’ perceptions of the school’s organizational climate in the Vietnamese educational context, and it also provides a robust measurement tool for future academic research and evidence-based school management practices.
