Abstract
This study explored the employer’s feedback on the job performance of Tourism and Hospitality Management graduates from Mindoro State University (MinSU), particularly the qualities that employers pinpoint as strengths and areas for improvement in their job performance and the readiness of graduates in the Tourism and Hospitality industry. This study used a qualitative approach and a case study research design. The study participants were ten (10) employers in the province of Oriental Mindoro, particularly the different establishments that hired Tourism and Hospitality Management graduates from Mindoro State University. Interviews were utilized, and narrative analysis was used to analyze the interview transcripts of the participants. Results showed that the strengths in foundational knowledge and readiness for the hospitality industry are commendable. Graduates from MINSU are incredibly skilled and well-prepared for their positions, especially in providing customer service and multitasking. Finding a balance between the job and school schedules of working students is still tricky, though. Likewise, the feedback from employers asserts the strengths of MINSU’s Tourism and Hospitality Management graduates, particularly their practical skills, early industry exposure, and professionalism. However, customer service, communication skills, and extended training durations need attention.
