Abstract
The rapid shift of trends brought by technology is inevitable in adapting to the students’ preferences in learning. Specifically, it has been a challenge to effectively teach students subject-verb agreement, particularly in the context of modern educational practices influenced by technology. As trends in education shift rapidly due to advancements in technology, there is a pressing need to adapt instructional methods to align with students’ learning preferences. In lieu of this, this study investigates the impact of mobile-assisted learning tools, like the Interactive E-Learning Packet, to enhance motivation and improve academic performance in subject-verb agreement among university students in Danao City during the Academic Year 2023 - 2024. Through the quasi-experimental research design, the level of motivation of the 52 respondents was surveyed and correlated with their post-test performance on the Subject-Verb Agreement Assessment after the implementation of the Interactive E-Learning Packet. Moreover, it was also investigated the pretest and post-test performance differences of the students. Tallied, tabulated, interpreted, and analyzed results through Pearson’s r showed a significant positive correlation, which underscores their interconnectivity, and the T-test calculation showed a difference between the students’ pretest and post-test performance, which emphasizes the effectiveness of the mobile-assisted learning packet on subject-verb agreement. Thus, fostering the assistance of mobile devices ignites students’ motivation to learn and impacts their learning positively.
