Abstract

This study examines the licensure examination performance of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) graduates from Cebu Technological University Tuburan Campus over three years (2019, 2021, and 2022), focusing on results in General Education, Professional Education, and Major/Specialization Courses as a basis for targeted learning improvements. The study aims to analyze the outcomes for first-time and repeat test-takers, identifying areas of strength and where candidates face challenges. Using a quantitative, descriptive approach, the study draws on official records from the Office of the Registrar to assess the scores of BSED graduates on the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Findings indicate that while the 2019 cohort achieved satisfactory results across all exam areas, results in 2021 and 2022 decreased. In 2021, graduates performed satisfactorily in General and Professional Education but faced challenges in the Major/Specialization area, where no one passed. This trend persisted in 2022, with overall satisfactory General and Professional Education results but lower performance in specialization subjects. The study aims to inform curriculum and support strategies to help future graduates achieve higher readiness for professional teaching by identifying specific challenges and strengths in these assessment areas. Ultimately, this three-year performance analysis underscores the need for targeted enhancements to better support BSED graduates, fostering improved outcomes in the licensure examination and advancing the quality of teacher preparation at the university.
