Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • 1. Originality and No Concurrent Submission;
    • I confirm that the manuscript is an original work of the author(s);
    • The manuscript has not previously been published in any form, except as a preprint (if fully disclosed in accordance with the Journal's policy);
    • The manuscript is not currently under review at any other journal or publisher;
    • The content of the article does not infringe any copyright, intellectual property right, or third-party right.
  • 2. Alignment with the Journal's Aims and Scope;
    • I have carefully read the Journal's Aims and Scope;
    • The research topic falls within the Journal's academic scope;
    • The article type matches one of the article types accepted by the Journal;
    • The article makes a clear scientific contribution with academic or practical value.
  • 3. Manuscript Preparation;
    • The manuscript has been prepared in accordance with HCMCOUJS's Manuscript Preparation guidelines;
    • The article structure matches the selected article type;
    • The article is formatted according to the HCMCOUJS template;
    • All tables, figures, and equations are fully numbered and captioned;
    • References and in-text citations are formatted according to APA 7th Edition;
    • Every reference cited in the text appears in the reference list, and vice versa.
  • 4. Title Page and Anonymized Manuscript;
    • I have uploaded a separate Title Page, containing complete author information;
    • I have uploaded a Main Manuscript with all author-identifying information removed to support double-blind peer review;
    • The metadata entered in OJS is fully consistent with the information in the Title Page.
  • 5. Authorship;
    • All authors meet the authorship criteria set out by HCMCOUJS and ICMJE;
    • There are no honorary authors, ghost authors, or authors added in violation of the requirements;
    • All authors have read, agreed to, and approved the final version of the manuscript;
    • All authors have agreed to submit the manuscript to HCMCOUJS.
  • 6. Research and Publication Ethics;
    • The article fully complies with HCMCOUJS's Publication Ethics & Research Integrity Policy;
    • Research involving human subjects or animals has received ethics approval (where applicable);
    • Informed consent to participate has been obtained (where applicable);
    • There is no plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or salami slicing of research results.
  • 7. Required Statements;
    • I have fully completed the following disclosures in the Unified Author Disclosure Form: Originality Statement, Scientific Contribution Statement, Authorship, Funding, Conflicts of Interest, Research Ethics Approval and Informed Consent, Data/Code Availability Statement, AI Use, Copyright, Academic Integrity, and Compliance with HCMCOUJS Policies.
  • 8. Research Data;
    • Research data, source code, or supplementary materials have been prepared in accordance with the Journal's policy;
    • I am prepared to provide the raw data upon request from the Editorial Board.

    • I have read HCMCOUJS's AI Governance Policy;
    • Any use of AI tools during the research or manuscript preparation process has been fully disclosed;

Author Guidelines

  1. Tạp chí Khoa học Đại học Mở Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh là nơi công bố, đăng tải các công trình nghiên cứu khoa học của các nhà nghiên cứu, các chuyên gia trong các lĩnh vực nghiên cứu thuộc phạm vi của Tạp chí.
  2. Tác giả cam kết bài viết không được gửi cùng lúc nhiều tạp chí và chưa từng được xuất bản tại các tạp chí, kỷ yếu khoa học, ấn phẩm khác ở dạng tóm tắt hay toàn văn (dưới dạng bản in hay bản điện tử). Tác giả không gửi bài viết đến các tạp chí, ấn phẩm có xuất bản khác cho đến khi có quyết định cuối cùng từ Tòa soạn (không được xét duyệt xuất bản).
  3. Các bài viết khoa học gửi đến Tạp chí phải bảo đảm đủ các yếu tố của Điều kiện nộp bài tại Tạp chí. Để chuẩn bị tốt cho quá trình nộp bài viết, Tác giả vui lòng tham khảo Hướng dẫn dành cho tác giả.
  4. Bài viết được trình bày trên file Word, font chữ Times New Roman, cỡ chữ 12, có độ dài tối đa không quá 7.000 từ (khoảng 15 trang đánh máy khổ A4 bao gồm cả tài liệu tham khảo). Tác giả có thể tham khảo thêm các chi tiết khác tại Thể lệ bài viết và Mẫu bản thảo được công bố bởi Tạp chí.
  5. Các thông tin về tất cả các tác giả của bài viết bao gồm Họ và tên, học hàm - học vị, chức vụ, nơi công tác, địa chỉ liên lạc, số điện thoại, email phải được kê khai đầy đủ trong Cover letter cũng như khi nộp bài viết trên hệ thống trực tuyến của Tạp chí.
  6. Tòa soạn công bố chi tiết các Chính sách và Quy trình nhận bài, phản biện, biên tập, và xuất bản bài viết (bao gồm thời gian cho từng giai đoạn).
  7. Tạp chí thực hiện chính sách không thu phí đối với tất cả các bài viết.
  8. Truy cập mở đối với tất cả các bài báo đã xuất bản bản (tiếng Anh – tiếng Việt) trên hệ thống trực tuyến của Tạp chí.
  9. Bạn đọc và các tác giả có thể đặt mua tạp chí thông qua địa chỉ của Tòa soạn.

All authors have to agree to be listed and approve the manuscript submission to the Journal. Copyright Notice

The copyright of articles published by the Journal is governed by the Law on Intellectual Property of Vietnam (2022), the Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Intellectual Property (2022), and the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

  • Submitted/Revised Manuscript after Initial Screening (Preprint): The author(s) retain full copyright, including moral rights and property rights. At this stage, withdrawal of the manuscript or changes to its content, authorship, or author order will only be considered where there is a legitimate reason, a clear justification, and complete supporting documentation in accordance with the Journal's requirements.
  • Revised Manuscript (Postprint): The author(s) retain copyright over the manuscript. Changes to authorship at this stage will only be considered where truly necessary, and require a detailed justification together with the written consent of all authors concerned.
  • Accepted Manuscript: This is an incomplete, intermediate product. In principle, the author(s) are not permitted to withdraw the manuscript or to alter its content, number of authors, or authorship order. Changes to authorship will only be considered in exceptional circumstances (e.g., where a serious authorship error is identified) and require the written approval of the Editor-in-Chief. The Journal holds the property rights over the accepted manuscript.
  • Published Version of Record: This is the version formally published in print and/or online by the Journal, assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), and indexed in the domestic and international databases in which the Journal participates - it constitutes the sole official scholarly record for citation. The published article incorporates the full added value contributed by the Journal, including submission, desk review, peer review, editorial processing, acceptance, and publication. The author(s) retain copyright over the published article, except for the property rights, which are held by the Journal. Author(s) are permitted to copy, store, distribute, display, perform, and create derivative works based on the original article for lawful and non-commercial purposes, provided that proper and complete citation of the Ho Chi Minh City Open University Journal of Science is made, in compliance with the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). Changes to authorship are not accepted at this stage; any resulting disputes or violations will be handled in accordance with the Correction, Retraction and Post-Publication Policy.
