Khởi nghiệp được xem là động lực thúc đẩy tăng trưởng nền kinh tế. Sinh viên đại học, với sự năng động và tinh thần chấp nhận rủi ro, là nhóm đối tượng tiềm năng cho hoạt động khởi nghiệp. Dựa trên lý thuyết nhận thức xã hội về nghề nghiệp (SCCT), nghiên cứu này kiểm tra mối quan hệ giữa giáo dục khởi nghiệp và ý định khởi nghiệp, đồng thời xem xét vai trò điều tiết của sự do dự nghề nghiệp. Dữ liệu thu thập từ 428 sinh viên đại học tại Việt Nam với chiến lược chọn mẫu thuận tiện và phân tích bằng phương pháp PLS-SEM. Kết quả cho thấy giáo dục khởi nghiệp tác động tích cực đến năng lực cá nhân và kỳ vọng kết quả, từ đó thúc đẩy ý định khởi nghiệp. Tuy nhiên, sự do dự nghề nghiệp làm suy giảm ảnh hưởng của kỳ vọng kết quả đến ý định khởi nghiệp nhưng không có ý nghĩa thống kê đối với mối quan hệ giữa niềm tin năng lực cá nhân và ý định khởi nghiệp. Nghiên cứu đóng góp vào lý thuyết bằng cách làm rõ tác động của giáo dục khởi nghiệp và sự do dự nghề nghiệp đối với ý định khởi nghiệp. Kết quả gợi ý xây dựng chương trình đào tạo thực tiễn và hệ thống hỗ trợ nghề nghiệp nhằm giảm thiểu sự do dự, tăng cường niềm tin và động lực khởi nghiệp của sinh viên.
