The purpose of this paper is to identify factors affecting the poverty in rural areas by using the Binary Logistic model and to suggest policy implications to local authority to implement effectively poverty alleviative policies. The data for the research is from the survey of 330 households by questionnaries at Binh Phuoc province in 2010. The main findings are that household that householder's job is non-agricultural is less poor than one that householder's job is agricultural, area under cultivation per person in household has a negative effect to the household's poverty; household with male householder is less poor than one with female household, higher members in household is more poverty, household's education affects negatively household's poverty, and household accessing to loans from banks is less poverty.
