Hệ thống hoạch định nguồn lực doanh nghiệp (ERP – viết tắt của Enterprise Resource Planing) mô tả hệ thống phần mềm hỗ trợ toàn diện hoạt động quản lý doanh nghiệp nhằm tối ưu hóa các nguồn lực và xử lý thông tin.Vì những lợi ích và vai trò quan trọng không thể phủ nhận, ERP được ứng dụng rộng rãi và hiệu quả trên toàn thế giới, và Việt Nam cũng không nằm ngoài xu hướng này.
Khái niệm “hệ thống hoạt động” (work system) được nhiều nhà nghiên cứu xã hội
- kỹ thuật (socio - technical researchers) và những người làm việc thực tế sử dụng để mô tả một hệ thống (chẳng hạn dự án, hệ thống thông tin, hay hệ thống hoạt động kinh doanh) trong đó có sự kết hợp con người và các thiết bị, nguồn lực để tạo sản phẩm hoặc các dịch vụ cung cấp cho đối tượng nội bộ và bên ngoài doanh nghiệp.
Bài báo này sử dụng khái niệm “work system” để phân tích, xem xét hệ thống ERP nhằm có một cái nhìn toàn diện các vấn đề liên quan khi triển khai hay ứng dụng một hệ thống ERP.
